Who are we?
LeapTag Inc. is an angel-funded, technology startup based in San Jose, CA. We are serial entrepreneurs experienced in building other successful start-ups and having fun in the process. We are currently working on a new and exciting paradigm for retrieving information from the web. We believe that our unique algorithm and application will change the way people browse the Internet and get information. Our product LeapTag is currently in beta (check us out at http://beta.leaptag.com).

1. Senior/Lead Software Engineer - Server-side
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields
- Extensive experience in developing web applications in Python/Java/PHP
- Experience with database programming
- Experience with server-side architectures
- Experience processing information on the web (HTTP, XML, RSS, crawling and/or scraping using Python/Perl/Java)
- Programming experience in C/C++ and working in open source UNIX very desirable
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience in Windows or Mac application development, or IE/Firefox toolbar/plug-ins is a big plus
2. Architect/Technical Lead - Machine Learning
We are looking for an architect with a strong background in machine learning. The right candidate will lead research and development efforts for our core technology in text classification.
Qualifications:
- PhD in machine learning, specifically text classification or a closely related subject
- Good natural language processing knowledge is a plus
- 5+ years industry software development experience
- Solid C/C++ programming skills
- Articulate and creative
- Experience in web development (HTML, XML, XSLT) desirable
